Calm Camp Thailand

Thailand Calm Camp is designed for those who are ready to step away from the busyness of everyday life and embrace something truly transformative. No prior meditation experience is required — only an open heart and a willingness to be present.

Set Foot on Sacred Ground

Your journey begins with a Pilgrimage Event, followed by a sunrise Food Offering (Alms Giving) — one of the most moving experiences in Thai Buddhist culture. From there, we travel to the beautiful island of Koh Samui for check-in and a few days of free time to ease into the rhythm of Thailand.

Seven Days of Stillness at Samui International Meditation Center

At the heart of this retreat lies a 7-day silent meditation experience at the renowned Samui International Meditation Center. Guided by experienced teachers, you'll learn to quiet the mind, reconnect with yourself, and discover the transformative power of present-moment awareness.

Walk Where Ancient Tradition Lives

Return to the mainland for a series of deeply meaningful temple visits, including an Evening Light of Peace Ceremony at Wat Bot Bon and a Morning Alms Offering — a sacred ritual of giving that stays with you long after you return home. You'll also have time to meet Luang Por Tatta, a visit many past guests describe as the highlight of their trip.

🌿 Is This Retreat Right for You?

Thailand Calm Camp is designed for those who are ready to step away from the busyness of everyday life and embrace something truly transformative. No prior meditation experience is required — only an open heart and a willingness to be present.

This retreat is ideal for you if you:

  • Feel drawn to Buddhist culture and mindful living

  • Are looking for more than just a holiday — a journey with real meaning

  • Are ready to commit fully to the experience, with respect for the group and the traditions we follow

🙏 The Five Precepts

As part of this retreat, all participants are asked to observe the Five Precepts for the full 18 days. These are the foundational ethical guidelines of Buddhist practice — and keeping them is what makes the deeper experience possible.

  1. Refrain from taking life — treating all living beings with kindness and care

  2. Refrain from taking what is not given — respecting the belongings and space of others

  3. Refrain from sexual misconduct — observing celibacy for the duration of the retreat

  4. Refrain from false speech — speaking with honesty, kindness, and intention

  5. Refrain from alcohol and intoxicants — keeping the mind clear and the heart open

These precepts are not restrictions — they are the conditions that allow genuine peace to arise.

🗓️ Full Participation

This is a shared journey, and every activity has been carefully chosen to support your experience and that of the group. We ask that all participants:

  • Attend all scheduled activities and ceremonies

  • Remain with the group throughout the programme

  • Approach each day with openness and respect

There will be free time built into the schedule — particularly during our days in Koh Samui — for rest, reflection, and personal exploration.

👗 What to Wear

Dressing modestly is a sign of respect in Thai culture — and in many of the sacred spaces we'll visit, it is required. We recommend packing:

  • White or light-coloured clothing — especially for meditation sessions and temple visits

  • Long sleeves and full-length trousers or skirts at all times in temples and during ceremonies

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting layers suitable for both warm weather and air-conditioned spaces

  • Easy slip-on shoes — you will be removing your footwear frequently throughout the trip

A simple, mindful wardrobe helps keep the focus on what matters.
